Terms for using Held.

What Held is

Held is a calm scheduling assistant for households. It reads your calendar (with your permission), helps you track tasks, and suggests times for the things you ask about. We're in active beta — features change, things may break, and we'll do our best to be honest about both.

Using your account

Keep your sign-in to yourself. Anyone with access to your email account can sign into Held as you. If you think someone else has been into your account, write us and we'll help you re-secure it.

What Held suggests

Held's suggestions — calendar windows, narrative summaries, voice read-backs, task slot proposals — are drafts, not commitments. Held may make mistakes. Always check times, dates, and details before you commit to something based on what Held said. We won't add events to your calendar or send messages on your behalf without your explicit acceptance.

Your content

Your tasks, notes, work hours, and connected calendar stay yours. We don't sell them, share them with advertisers, or use them to train AI models on. The third-party AI services Held uses (Anthropic, OpenAI, ElevenLabs) receive only what they need to answer the immediate request, and we've chosen providers that contractually commit to not training on customer inputs.

Your Circle

When you share a task with your Circle, every active member of that household can see and act on it. You're responsible for who you invite. Members can see only what you've explicitly shared — they never see your personal tasks, your private calendar event titles, or anything else you haven't deliberately surfaced.

Paid plans and billing

Held Family is a monthly subscription billed through Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from inside Held; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and your circle stays connected throughout. Extra Circle seats beyond the included six are billed per seat per month and prorated by Stripe to your current billing period — adding or removing a seat mid-month adjusts your next invoice accordingly. All prices are shown in USD unless stated otherwise. We may change prices for future billing periods with at least 14 days' notice via email; existing periods are honored at the price you signed up at.

Refunds

If something's wrong, write us. We'll work with you on a refund where it makes sense — accidental signups, service failures on our side, duplicate charges. Refunds aren't automatic for unused time after cancellation; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.

Leaving Held

You can leave anytime. The Delete my data link in Settings removes your account and every row Held has stored about you, including tasks, reminders, calendar grants, and voice history. Once that runs, we can't restore the data — make sure to export anything you want first.

We can close accounts

We may suspend or close accounts that abuse the service, harass other users, attempt to break the system, or violate the law. We'll try to tell you first; sometimes (clear abuse) we may not.

No warranty

Held is provided "as is." We aim for a calm, accurate experience, but we don't warrant that the service will always be available, error-free, or fit any specific purpose. AI features in particular are non-deterministic and may produce wrong or unhelpful suggestions.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Held's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Held grows. If we make a meaningful change, we'll send you an email and surface a notice in the app. Continuing to use Held after a change means you accept the new terms.
